What have we been up to....

It has been commented that this site has not changed in a while and what have we been up to...

Well the main developer/designer lost his main income source, spent a fair while on holiday and started a new career as a Tech-Mercenary. Hence the lack of time on working on this project - he has also been planning his forthcoming wedding :-)

A couple of months ago we had a review and decided that the AgentLite system should change from the initial single-user, single-pc implementation to a multi-user SME based one. As a consequence we have been (when time allows) looking at and designing a user-and-groups based generic logon system based (initially) around a web-service and a plug-in backend architecture which would allow database, password file, LDAP, or most other back-end systems; one key feature is that we will not only allow username and password, but other credential mechanism such as fingerprint and iris scans. This work is well under-way, and when implemented will be a standalone component that can be re-used in other potential AgentLite systems such as a web-portal.

Incidently the login/session management system is going to be described within Gary Leeson's website.

First webstart enabled demo.

First demo of the Agent Lite editor - very much pre Alpha stuff. Can be invoked from here.

There is no agent running, much help, or components yet!! This is mainly learning excercise for Java WebStart

Welcome to the new AgentLite project website

Welcome to the all new AgentLite opposite. What is AgentLite? AgentLite is a lightweight Agent / Workflow project that will enable common business tasks to easily to be created (or easier at least).

Essentially AgentLite is an extendable toolkit that allows you to do business intelligence and data gathering tasks and to generate reports and alarms.
